Although Owais has known about the Internet for some time, he only got access to it two years ago. He realized that he had a unique opportunity to find work outside his small town. The beginning was not easy, because at that time Owais only spoke Urdu – in order to find work, he had to learn English.

He persevered, learning English and IT basics while continuing his work as an accountant. His breakthrough came when he registered as a freelancer on the Fiverr portal, where he offered his services as a graphic designer. That’s where he met Chris.

Chris immediately recognized Owais’ desire to learn and gave him the chance to develop the skills he needed for his new career. This meant giving Owais more time to complete tasks, mentoring him and giving him the opportunity to solve problems and learn in the process.

For Owais, working with Click A Tree has changed his life. He still works incredibly hard: 16 to 20 hours a day. But now he can use the money he earns to give his children a better education so that they have the best possible start in life.

Now that he has more work, Owais has built up a small team to help him. Our collaboration has thus triggered a chain reaction that has created several jobs.

He was also finally able to fulfill a lifelong dream: to take part in the Hajj, an annual Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca. This was the first flight of his life and his first trip outside Pakistan – milestones that would not have been possible before.

He knows that he has to keep learning in order to be successful: “Things change day by day – we have to keep improving.” Owai’s next goal is to become a Python developer, because he knows that this will open up new opportunities for him.
