Our Community’s Collective Impact

Click A Tree exists to make sustainability simple and to implement it in our everyday lives.

We believe that trees are so much more than a CO2 number. With our holistically sustainable approach of planting trees, we create jobs with full-time income for local communities, build habitat for endangered animal species, and actively fight climate change.

Our vision is to make planting trees an everyday habit. It makes our planet a healthier, fairer (and better) place for every being inhabiting it.
Because in the end, we’re all sharing the same planet – and it’s the only one we’ve got. We believe it’s worth fighting for.

Why We Plant Trees - The Click A Tree Version

“I founded Click A Tree to create habitat for elephants – as well as for all the other wonderful animals that depend on trees.

After having lived and worked on 5 continents, I moved to a National Park area in Southern Thailand in 2012, where I got to spend my days with elephants. Since my time in Thailand, I feel a strong connection to these majestic creatures. I don’t want to just sit around and watch the dramatic effects of deforestation, I want to create the habitat that elephants and other animals need to survive.

How We Plant

Throwing a seed into the ground is not enough. Our holistically sustainable approach gives us the ability to create biodiverse forests that have the best chances of surviving.

In addition, we don’t work with volunteers but full-time workers who not only plant the trees but also take care of them until they are strong enough to survive on their own.

Together with our reforestation experts we have created a planting strategy for each individual tree planting project that is closest to how nature would have done it.

We plant over 20 different tree species, such as Baobab, Shea Nut, Mahagoni, Neem Tree, Gmelina, and farm plants such as banana trees, cashews & moringa.

Our reforestation system is called “syntropic farming”. It basically means we create both a forest and plant fruit trees (e.g. banana, cashew, beans…). That way locals can eat and sell the fruit, and we create a forest at the same time.

In Ghana we also support an entrepreneur school that teaches young Ghaneans the basics of entrepreneurship.

We plant over 40 different tree species. These include teak trees, cluster figs, golden shower trees, money trees, and even yellow bells.

By planting these native trees we are creating a habitat for elephants and other endangered animals, as well as a food source for the local community and the animals.

We plant different kinds of mangrove trees and plants that are native to the area. In the last round we planted a total of 13 different species.

For each tree planted, we remove 1kg of plastic from the ocean in the Philippines.
