Sustainability strategy: tree planting per gourmet dish
In February 2024, we introduced you to Patrick Stier and his renowned gourmet restaurant Papageno in Constance.
Now, a year later, we catch up with Patrick again to talk about the progress of his collaboration with Click A Tree and hear some exciting news from his restaurant business.
He also told us that a move is imminent…
- The Papageno plants a tree for every gourmet menu sold
- The regular guests also attach great importance to sustainability and therefore continue to come regularly
- Guests are delighted with the restaurant's commitment to sustainability
- The restaurant's brand image benefits from the tree planting with Click A Tree
- The gourmet restaurant supports the project in Ghana and also supports two local entrepreneurial schools by planting trees

Sustainability and enjoyment: enthusiastic feedback from guests
Upscale cuisine and environmental awareness go hand in hand at Papageno.
For every gourmet menu served, a tree is planted in Ghana – an initiative that has already produced over 2,400 trees and is met with great enthusiasm by guests.
Sustainability is not a trend here, but a lived philosophy that characterizes the restaurant and strengthens the brand image.
Whether you’re a regular guest or a tourist – once you’ve tried the creative menus, you’ll want to come back.
Guests can find out more about the tree planting project on the menu or directly from the team, who are passionate about the idea.
Enjoyment with a clear conscience has never been so easy.
Sustainable gastronomy is the trend
The cooperation between Restaurant Papageno and Click A Tree has been in place since 2022.
In 2024, a further 656 trees were planted in the Ghana project.
This means that 2,462 trees are already growing in Papageno Forest, which now covers an area of 9,848 m².
In addition, 492 days of education were created in the entrepreneurial schools.
Sustainability as transparent and uncomplicated as possible
Owner and chef Patrick Stier can view the impact achieved by the gourmet dishes sold at any time via his Click A Tree dashboard and share it with his guests.
He likes the simplicity of working with Click A Tree. “Sustainability can be so simple!” says Patrick Stier.
The dashboard is available to all companies and individuals who plant trees together with Click A Tree. It is easily accessible via the login on the website and clearly shows what has been achieved through tree planting:
The area reforested, the trees planted, the CO? absorbed, the education supported, the plastic waste collected from the sea and the work created for local people.
